Triple Ranch Tour

  • We meet at Gatti's Pizza on Hwy 71 in Austin (the 'Y' in Oak Hill) . (Get directions)
  • Meet at 9:00am, do registration and payments and depart no later than 9:30am
  • We then drive 39 miles to The LBJ Ranch in Johnson City.

  • We can visit their welcome center, use restrooms and explore the homestead, gardens,etc.
  • No fee, donations accepted.
Then we drive to The Sculpture Ranch, also in Johnson City.
  • This is a freebie sponsored by the Benini Arts Foundation.
  • They have 140 acres, scenic drive with a multitude of large outdoor sculptures worthy of pix.


We then drive 42 miles to Wimberley to visit the fabulous Old Glory Ranch. It is situated on 2,000+ pristine acres on the Blanco River. It is primarily known for hosting posh Texas style weddings and parties.
  • They have a beautiful/large rustic chapel and other buildings.
  • We will use their outdoor pavilion that has rustic tables, furniture, fireplace and restrooms.
  • They will provide a sandwich buffet plus pasta and green salads, fruit, cookies and soft drinks. The cost was based on food plus employee service and will be $13 per person, inclusive of tax/gratuity. Pricier than Denny's, but the rustic ambience is a bonus.
  • After lunch, we will be given a short talk about Old Glory and then tour the chapel (decorated for a wedding that evening) and walk to the river to see the outdoor wedding platform on the river.
  • We will need to leave before 3:30 as employees will be arriving to set up the wedding stuff.


Mike Sevel will then lead everyone back to Wimberley's shopping area. Those who wish to shop can leave our tour and he will lead the rest of us back to I-35 via scenic route.
