Pavillion A. There is plenty of shaded parking.

Park on Hons St - one block Northwest of Cheatham

Time: 11:00am to 4:00 pm

Price: $8 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 to cover meal only. Other expenses such as swimming pool, etc. will be additional.

Lunch: Will be served at 12:00 noon!! Rudy's BBQ with all the trimings. Need to bring sodas and ice if you do not want tea.

Dessert:

  • Desserts will be pot luck.
  • Bring desserts if you want to eat desserts.
  • We will be having a dessert contest, so cook your best.
  • Also, if the dessert is home made, please bring the recipe for the dessert you bring for exchange.

Things to Bring:
  • Chairs, blankets, etc. for your comfort
  • Water sports equipment if desired
  • Bug spray
  • Swimsuit and towels, as the river is great for wading and swimming in.
  • Sunscreen
  • Folding chairs
  • Hat
  • No boom boxes please
  • Be sure to bring things like horseshoes, baseball or softball, football, dominoes, cards, frisbees, etc. We will have lots of games going on throughout the day.
  • Fun attitude!!

  • Three miles of jogging trails
  • Playscape equipment
  • Picnic tables
  • Blacktop basketball courts
  • Volleyball set-ups
  • There are also 4 tennis courts about 1/2 block away from the gazebo
  • If people don't want to swim in the river or tube, they can walk 1/2 block to the municipal pool & pay admission there.
  • A vast array of unique and interesting river wildlife.
  • The river offers canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, and tubing in crystal clear spring fed waters.
  • There is a playground nearby for children to play on.
  • Large tubes can be rented from Lions Club at City Park for river floating. Tube rental includes unlimited shuttle service from Rio Vista back to City Park. Or, if you already have your tube just purchase a shuttle ticket. Great fun.

Park Rules

  • Park Curfew is from 11:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
  • Overnight camping is prohibited in all parks.
  • Animals must be properly restrained at all times.
  • No Glass Containers
  • Vehicles must be parked in designed parking areas.
  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited on all trails.
  • Alcohol is prohibited in Children’s Park and the Softball/Little League Fields.
  • The Playscape is a tobacco free area.
  • Spearguns are prohibited in the San Marcos River.
  • No jumping or diving from bridges.
  • No standing or stopping in the spillway of any dam or flood control structure.
  • No standing or stopping on railway bridges.
  • Collection of firewood is prohibited in all parks.
  • Fires are permitted in designated pits only.
  • Use of metal detectors is prohibited in all parks.
  • No nude sunbathing.
  • All habitat and wildlife is protected.
