Utopia Drive Weekend

- No "home hotel" this year. We will be "home-basing" from Boerne, not Kerrville - see list of hotels below and a list of B&Bs is here:
- Ye Kendall Inn - On the main square. 128 W. Blanco 830-249-2138
- Crescent Inn & Quarters - 170 S. Main Street, .2 miles from the square. 830-249-8016
- Comfort I&S - 35000 IH-10 west . 2.8 miles from Sq. 830-249-6800. (this is not accessed via IH-10, but off of Bandera Road.)
- Hampton Inn - 34935 IH-10 West. 3.1 miles from Sq. 830-816-8800.
- La Quinta - 36756 IH-10 West @ John's Road. 1.0 miles from Sq. 830-249-1212
- Fairfield Inn - 6 Cascade Caverns Rd. 3.7 miles from Sq. 830-368-4167
- There is another La Quinta on I-10 closer to SA, but it's about 10 miles away.
- Spend Friday night and avoid having to drive into Boerne early on Saturday morning.
- BYOB and your favorite appetizer to Jonna's and Brads's home for a Friday evening ice-breaker from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Directions will be emailed to participants before the event.
- Meet on the main square in Boerne at 8:45am to depart at 9:00am. There are public restrooms there, and it's also close to a couple of the quaint hotels.
- Morning drive
The property is an interesting Provence-Style building, which has a beautiful garden, with an herb garden, and enormous oaks. It also has a large parking area. This is going to be one of the highlights of the event.
- Lunch on Saturday will be near Utopia. We will have our own private room in a gourmet restaurant, the Laurel Tree, where we will be served a relaxing four course lunch. Lunch will include an appetizer, soup, choice of two main courses, dessert, iced tea, or coffee, and will cost $28 including tax and tip per person. We will be collecting at the meeting location in the morning, so please have cash or check available - no credit cards.
- Afternoon drive
Dinner Saturday evening will be at the Welfare Café in Welfare. We'll have a select menu. (more info) The restaurant is 12 miles from Boerne and we will not caravan.
They have a wine list or you can bring your own bottle of wine or hard liquor (no beer). There is a $10 corkage fee if you BYOB. Separate checks OK
- Meet on the main square in Boerne at 9:15 am to depart at 9:30am.
- Sunday will have more driving and will end with lunch at a place TBD.
