Hats off to the Bard again! We will be returning to Shakespeare at Windedale ...... this time to see UT's theater department perform Antony and Cleopatra at 2pm. Because tickets are limited, I suggest you secure your spot soon.
We will start the day in Lockhart at the Wal-Mart at 1904 S Colorado St (US 183). Driver's meeting will be at 8:45 am and we will depart at 9:00. There are several gas stations up and down 183 through Lockhart, so "full, full, empty" is easily accomplished.

You will pay for your tickets when signing in upon your arrival at Wal Mart. Lunch will be ordered from the menu and paid directly to the restaurant.
An easy morning drive through beautiful Texas back roads, including a rest stop at the Rockne Grocery Exxon, will take us to our lunch destination, Bistro 108, in LaGrange, Texas.

We will arrive shortly after 11 am before their lunch rush. Bistro 108 specializes in "fine casual dining." We will order from their menu, which frequently changes. After lunch, you will have time to take a leisurely stroll around the LaGrange square.
We will then make our way to Winedale for Antony and Cleopatra. A brief synopsis of the play states:

"Antony, one of the three ruling figures of the Roman Empire, becomes enthralled with Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. Their passion tests their loyalties to their countries, ideals, and visions of themselves. Antony and Cleopatra examines the power of transcendent love, and dissects the contrast and congruity between sex and power."

Tickets are $10 each and only thirty will be available. RSVP early to secure your tickets.

The rural facility is in an open air barn with individual chairs and evaporative coolers blowing cool air on the audience and stage. It is very quaint and a wonderful venue for these productions. Students come from all over the U.S. and even the world to perform all summer.
